Brownhelm Historical Association hosts spring Grandma's Attic sale over the weekend

The same thing with other characters who shows more lust than love. For someone who will never experience it I just want to experience love even if it's from a drawn character. Co-written by Dan Swimer, Grandma's House echoes The Royle Family in places, with its sense of family and sentimentality, as well as the simple fact that most scenes are played out from the comfort of a sofa in front of the TV (watching an old episode of Buzzcocks, naturally). The show ran for one further series but last year Amstell confirmed there were no plans for a third. "We felt we'd written all the pain out of us," he said. In the days leading up to the sale, Giancaterino said the historical association will highlight some notable items on Facebook to be featured in the sale, leading to customers arriving prior to the sale’s start time.

There are whole story lines for the pregnancy content. If I remember correctly you get to choose whether or not your college girlfriend is pregnant when she visits you? (Been awhile since I have played the start of the game to be honest.)  Then she is pregnant for all her scenes after. Not too long ago she gave birth, so the MC has a daughter now. This photo was taken in one our transitional living homes, and thanks to our amazing donors, we can continue to provide spaces that feel like home.

WHY CHOOSE GRANDMA’S HOUSE?

Our homes come furnished and designed with a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality to promote feelings of wellness and contentment. Our common areas include a spacious living room with a Smart TV, a breakfast nook, a furnished outdoor porch and two bathrooms. Is anyone playing part 3 (0.38) on PC with no problems? Things unfold slowly in the suburban home of Amstell's Jewish grandparents, whom he visits weekly alongside his mother, aunt and younger cousin.

It is also possible to rent "Grandma's House" on Apple TV online and to download it on Apple TV.

I found out I had to reload the game after I imported the save file. Then I could load one of my past save files. Also I keep having error messages all through out the game but, could wait and they would clear and I could keep playing.

The show arrived on BBC2 in 2010, when Amstell was doing what he's best known for – "taking the piss out of pop stars", as his screen mother Tanya puts it. Amstell's venture into acting and writing was a brave move, especially when the show in question was a semi-autobiographical sitcom. Unfolding in a chintzy Essex living room, the first episode tackles his inexperience right away. "People congratulate me for being mean, it's not very Buddhist," says Amstell who, away from the scripted gags, seems shy and more than a little pretentious. "I just want to do something meaningful. Maybe I'll write something or act a bit." The incredulous response – "Act?" – from his mother, brilliantly played by Rebecca Front, is utterly damning. And her misgivings were echoed by critics at the time.

The annual Salone del Mobile furniture fair has always been big — it’s the event of the year for the international design world, drawing hundreds of thousands of makers, curators, editors and buyers to Milan each April for a week’s worth of inspiration, shop talk and aperitivi. Even more so than fashion week, the fair consumes the city. Luckily, there were so many interesting presentations on view that braving the crowds felt well worth it.

The programme sweetly captures the regression so many adults feel when stepping back into childhood homes – as well as the incessant bickering, most of which occurs over Amstell's dislike of Clive, his mum's new boyfriend. Is there a way to download the old versions so I can start from the beginning? Somehow my game got corrupted and I had to delete it. That's a question Amstell never really answers. Fans of his standup will recognise the character more easily than those who have binged on old Buzzcocks episodes on Dave.

According to Giancaterino, for a number of years, Brownhelm Historical Association has also been hosting a fall Grandma’s Attic sale featuring new rounds of treasures and any special items saved from the spring. In tune with the spring season, guests also had the option to purchase donated plants as well, such as perennials or house plants that guests often times have dug out of their own yard and thinned out themselves. “Everything in here is brought in new each time we have a sale because we don’t carry anything over unless it’s really something special,” Giancaterino said. As one of two main fundraising events for the organization, the spring and fall Grandma’s Attic sale features items donated by both members and non-members, according to vice president Jim Giancaterino, and new items are rotated for each sale.

This low-key but frequently hilarious comedy begins with Simon Amstell awkwardly telling his family that he wants to quit as the acerbic host of Never Mind the Buzzcocks. His family, assembled at his grandmother's house with the pop panel show on in the background, are shocked. Guests also “travel from all over” to attend the sale and refrain from missing out on the good deals and items. Every roommate has a private, spacious bedroom, furnished with a comfy bed, a desk and chair, two nightstands, lamp, and closets/armoires.

Gentle and tied up with neuroses, he is a man in love with the idea of self-improvement and fulfilment, with little notion of what they actually mean or how to get them. His family smothers him in love – and doesn't understand a thing he says. When his grandad thinks he may have cancer, Amstell advises him to beat the illness by thinking positively. Nobody tells him he's wrong, but nobody listens either. He ends up like a plaything for the family.

In our men’s program, one of our former participants even said he, “felt something there”. I downloaded the game a little while ago and damn. All the girls have their charm and I loved Shizuka's and Asami's adorableness. I'm not into GILF but I love Nana and Jamila. I like Liz and Kathy but after their first sex scene they somewhat became addicted to sex. Not a bad thing but mostly they want to have sex instead of having a romance.

Grandma’s Haus is a fully furnished, communal living space where housemates rent a private bedroom – while building community around shared spaces like the living room, kitchen, laundry room, and reader’s nook. I wish I can have Nana's or Jamila's relationship. Even without sex I can totally feel that they loved the MC and I really want to experience that but I know it's just a wishful thinking. For Jamila it is a possibility we are  getting real close to her sex scenes with the last few updates. MC comes home from college and has lots of sex.

Still, many advocates pressed the state to reduce the number of lanes on the road to make room for alternative modes of transit — though the state has largely resisted the idea so far. No merchandise of Tru-Roll is designed, intended or warranted for the use of lifting or transporting any living entity. The system incorporates independent lifting cables to uniformly raise or “sculpt” a drapery to a desired position. Support system may be rigged with a hand winch or fully motorized operation. Designed for walk along operation, track can be supplied in straight, curved, or serpentine sections.

We’re confident that we can work on your project due to our expertise in diverse areas. Therefore, you can trust us to deliver outcomes that will improve your bottom line. Using steels with yield strengths of KSI with forming angles of around 90-degrees and a 1t – 5t inside bend radius, a “k” factor between 35-40% of the material thickness is most common. Higher yield materials between KSI (with a low elongation percentage), a factor between 40-55% may be necessary. For bend angles over 120-degrees and inside bend radius less than 1t, the “k” factor should be around 50%.

The Basic Types of Metal Bending

When calculating strip widths and designing rolls, the maximum thickness within the gage range is generally used. This is done to eliminate interference between the male and female rolls when the material is passing through. The use of restricted tolerance material will greatly improve part consistency but is rarely done, due to increased costs for raw materials.

Innovative design allows for the most aggressive maneuverability of riders on today’s high-performance sport ATV’s. REBUILD YOUR OWNThere are plenty of used Honda 250Rs, Banshees and Suzukis out there for sale. As with this build, you can see the parts are still available to restore any of your old favorites. Kevin Avina’s build might be at the extreme end of any project you might even consider, but it’s a great benchmark to shoot for.

Rolled MSR roofing is thinner, larger, cheaper, less durable, and horizontally installed in long strips. Besides being thicker, composite shingles or any type of shingle are far less prone to tearing or cracking because stress is distributed across a wide area of individually moving parts. We'll schedule an install appointment or provide you with everything to easy DIY.

The speed at which these idled rolls spin is dictated by the section (at or near the highest point of the leg) rather than the mills’ drive. Generally this method is necessary when the formed legs of the profile are greater than 70-degrees. Other solutions to overfeeding can be idling key spindles on the mill or idling key forming rolls, clearance angles on rolls that appear to be driving too hard or reducing roll diameters in a previous pass. However, I would still hold the return leg as shown above, after contact with the inside corner is no longer possible.

After the flower has been completed, the designer needs to choose drive diameters and check for maximum flange roll sizes and possible interference with the rolling mill. “Step-up” or increasing the pitch diameters of the rolls from pass to pass is important to consider during the design phase. In many situations “overfeeding” or “buckling” between passes (particularly in the early stages) will occur. This problem is caused when the material (especially lighter gages) from a previous pass is driving faster than the next. The amounts of “forming torque” and “surface contact” on the rolls are the key factors as to why this problem exists. However, after the profile has ample column strength, step-up can be reduced or eliminated.

So in terms of quantity, a roofing roll is about the size of one composite shingle square. Square is a roofing term that refers to one roofing unit of 100 square feet. Multiple demanding industries rely on metal bending to support their operations. Some examples are Aerospace, Automotive, Construction, Art, Architectural, Residential, Commercial, and more. Other types of metal bending are Rotary, Joggling, Wiping, Folding, and Rolling.

Frampton has been busy touring, and he’s working on both a new album and a documentary. Peter Frampton has been a rock legend to fans and fellow musicians for decades, but now he’ll get his official designation in October. The British rock guitarist, who now calls Nashville, Tennessee home, learned this week, he’s being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. “It’s supposed to be multimodal, and it seems very car centric,” she said in an interview.

More commonly formed, or basic, shapes tend to have fewer variables and limitations, which in turn have higher levels of results that are both theoretical and repeatable. With this in mind, we will only scratch the surface in this “basic” design guide. We work closely with our clients in every step of the process, from design to delivery. We understand that each industry has different demands, so our experts are trained to handle the challenges our clients face with their projects.

With a little help from today’s technology, Avina made it better than it was back then with only minor changes. State Senator William N. Brownsberger ’78, whose district encompasses Allston-Brighton, said motorists had already accepted a compromise by seeing the lanes shrunk in size, if not in number. The design of a roll-type electric baromembrane purifier for separating, concentrating, and purifying industrial solutions is improved; its parameters are calculated.

This ten-pass example should be okay if running non-notched, post-cut mild steel. If the section is either notched, pre-cut or high strength material, more passes will be necessary to achieve desired results. Additional passes allow the material to flow through the mill with less strain.

The following layout describes how to determine the theoretical radii for the bends. The radii that are calculated are considered a “reducing” or “constant length” type, which means that in every forming pass, the entire “arc length” (.4285”) is being used within the radius. This is why the earlier passes have larger radii, when not completely formed to the finished angle of 90 degrees. In many cases, I like to calculate all the passes using this method, to develop the progression and then sharpen the radii in the early passes slightly to help the section track properly. Paramount Roll & Forming offers superior metal fabrication services, specializing in various metal bending and rolling methods. We have been a trusted manufacturer for many years, allowing us to gain extensive background knowledge in the varying industries we serve.

I like to form this leg to approximately degrees in three passes depending on the length of the leg. This angle is important because if formed all the way to its finished angle of 90-degrees, access to the inside corner of bend #1 will be limited in the later passes. By keeping bend #2 open 10 to 20 degrees, one additional pass will have contact with bend #1. The final 10 to 20 degrees of forming would take place after the last pass that contacts bend #1. Our metalworking experts understand our client’s challenges, and we’re ready to provide solutions that are second to none through our metal bending services. This type of fabrication is the backbone of innumerable industries, so we’re highly equipped to handle your projects, such as fabricating structural steel products.

11 Low-Maintenance Landscaping Tips to Reduce Yardwork

low maintenance landscape design

Design a rock garden using a variety of rocks, boulders, and drought-tolerant plants. Rock gardens require minimal maintenance and add visual interest to your backyard landscape, especially in arid regions where traditional gardening may be challenging. Using perennial flowers and shrubs to create color and texture in the garden is a good way to keep maintenance low.

Residential landscaping Services

But, if the idea of heavy-duty wiring puts you off, then why not consider an alternative... 'It's well known that teak acquires an attractive silver patina over time, due to the action of sunlight. It's a reason many customers choose the material,' says Peter Tyrie, Managing Director of Barlow Tyrie.

Use symmetry to create a classic, timeless look

For a smaller space abutting the front steps or surrounding the mailbox, check out decorative landscaping material. Artists and dreamers who want dramatic rock garden ideas might try polished black pebbles or moonlike lava stones to add interest to an otherwise ordinary area. Let’s say there’s lots of space elsewhere for patios, pergolas, and gazebos, with plenty of sloping lawn left over. This rock garden idea pairs broad splashes of brightly-hued flowers with the bold use of craggy, rugged rock. Using a mix of native shrubs, grasses and flowering perennials gives you the look you want while allowing plants to thrive in their natural habitat.

Amazing Backyard

For example, you might love roses but not realize they need at least 6 hours of sun to thrive. Embrace minimalist landscaping principles to create open, uncluttered spaces that are easy to navigate for both pets and humans. Simplify your landscape design with clean lines, low-maintenance plants, and ample room for pets to roam freely without feeling confined. Create functional outdoor living areas such as patios, decks, or fire pits that require minimal maintenance compared to traditional lawn spaces. Incorporate durable materials like composite decking or natural stone for long-lasting appeal. Choose native plants that are well-adapted to our climate and require minimal watering once established.

Plant them to help insulate and protect the soil, minimize stormwater runoff, and suppress weed growth too. There’s no way around it—container gardens require supplemental water. Water-retentive potting soil and a drip irrigation system can reduce the time needed for this garden chore. If a drip irrigation system isn’t practical for your container gardens, cluster pots together to simplify the watering process. Instead of watering pots tucked here and there around the perimeter of the house, gather all the pots on the patio where they are easily reachable from a single hose. Achieving low-maintenance landscaping is all about applying the adage “work smarter, not harder” to your lawn and garden.

Build paths or patios with gravel.

The Best Landscape Fabrics for Weed-Free Gardening

When creating a low-maintenance garden, add more permanent structures to your yard such as a patio, deck, pergola, arbor, fence, or wall. Use high-quality materials that will hold up to seasonal weather changes and look good in all four seasons. Though there is an initial investment, these features will reduce the amount of maintenance over time. Whether renovating one spot in the yard or an entire landscape, do your research first.

Low-growing 'ground-cover' plants around shrubs are useful for this – try Vinca minor and Pachysandra terminalis. Of all the plants that you could include in your low maintenance garden ideas, shrubs are the ones you are more likely to be able to put in and more or less forget about. Our small rock garden ideas feature suggests more plants that will happily live in slightly drier conditions – perfect if you're after low maintenance garden ideas. Garden gravel ideas are a good, low-maintenance option for attractive, permeable hard landscaping and can look wonderful with sun-loving plants in or around them. But be sure to use a weed-suppressing membrane underneath it to ensure upkeep is minimal.

18 Native Plants to Grow in Xeriscape Gardens (By Region)

Specifically, matching the mature size of a tree or shrub to the available space above and below ground is one of the most important shopping considerations. Be sure to read plant labels or look up the average mature size of these plants before you buy. After all, pruning overgrown plants to maintain a much smaller size is not sustainable. Avoid wasting time and money on your landscaping project by starting with a plan. For best results, consider hiring a professional landscape designer to draw a landscape plan that you can either have professionally installed or install on your own. Design rates range between  $50 and $150 per hour,  depending on location.

People who live in urban areas often have to sacrifice having easily-accessible outdoor space. With the right decor, you can transform your rooftop into a garden getaway. This low-profile wood planter features an abundance of plant life, including hydrangeas and Japanese maple.

Homeowner’s association fees often cover exterior maintenance, snow removal, and professional lawn care. Chief among them is that homes can feel indistinguishable from one another. A garden bed filled with a melange of foliage gives this home a sense of character and individuality. This luxurious low-maintenance backyard design offers a great option for families who like to entertain. These architectural features consist of built-in seating that is intentionally arranged in a centrally-focused manner to encourage guests to interact with one another. This outdoor area offers a contemporary take on the classic conversation pit.

Trees and shrubs require less maintenance than perennials and annuals. Choose varieties that don’t require a lot of cleanup of spent flowers, hulls, or seedlings. Conifers and broadleaf evergreens add year-round structure and permanence to the landscape. These plants have adapted to local climate conditions including rainfall, temperature and soil, so will need little or no extra attention once established. Gravel is a staple in the low-maintenance landscaping world because it’s surprisingly easy to work with despite its elegant appearance. To achieve this look, you’ll need to start by removing grass or other plants to level out the land as much as possible.

Ornamental grasses and xeriscaping plants are excellent options that thrive with little care. Residents of drought-affected areas in the Southwest use inorganic materials in much greater quantities than their eastern U.S. counterparts. Here, the many multicolored pebbles function like Lebowski’s rug, really tying together the natural and manmade elements of this xeriscape with plants.

For hot and dry climates, we like brilliant sedum, and, yes, yarrow (don’t dare call it a weed!). If you do have some plants that need watering on a regular basis, installing an automatic watering system could save you hours of time every week. Keeping a lawn looking good is arguably the most time-consuming of all garden jobs. All you then need to do is mow it just once a year at the end of summer. Our best wooden garden furniture buying guide is full of fantastic ideas. Complete with in-built reservoirs, these sustainable containers will allow you to enjoy your plants without reaching for the watering can so often, for fear of them drying out.

Symmetrical front yard landscaping will never go out of fashion, and it works particularly well for smaller front yards because it visually expands the space by creating a vista. Take inspiration from this beautiful front yard designed by Matthew Cunningham Landscape Design. A formal symmetrical layout is cleverly combined with relaxed, textured planting and a gravel path. Natives are usually better able to thrive in the unique growing conditions of your region, and often require less maintenance than non-native plants.

The 4-bedroom house plan gives you enough space to have the option to expand the functionality of your home. As you might expect, a four-bedroom house plan is a home design that has four bedrooms. Most of these homes have four bedrooms clearly marked on the floor plans, but some may have an interchangeable bedroom/office or flex room that would make a suitable bedroom.

These homes are smaller in size and carry over many of the aesthetics of Craftsman homes, only on a more stripped-down scale. These houses often feature offset porches, simple front lawns, and a single story that spreads out the rooms to maximize space. Everyone should be able to move in, out, and around their home with ease - and a single story home provides that access to many.

Plants that look out of place and don’t blend in with the rest of the landscape should also receive attention, whether that means repurposing them or removing them altogether. You’ll want to note any plants that are showing signs of stress from the full-sun exposure. If these plants are in otherwise healthy shape, they can be replanted elsewhere on the property.

Also, powered sod cutters can help with removing the grass while rototillers can help mix soil and compost. A garden hose and marking paint can help with the new layout, as well. Also, look for other issues, such as overgrown plants or shrubs that were planted too close together.

San Francisco, CA

Throwing wagyu beef into a dish is usually done to be flashy, but here the rich, tender slivers of beef make a large difference in these great stir-fried rice noodles. When you move to San Francisco, you quickly learn that Ghirardelli Square is a landmark, like the cable car turntable in Union Square or the Tonga Room, but it’s not real San Francisco. You’re only supposed to come to this former chocolate factory with visiting relatives so they can get free chocolates, and then inevitably drag you to Fisherman’s Wharf. When you’re not playing tour guide, though, you can go to Palette Tea House. This dim sum restaurant from the Dragon Beaux people is in the center of the city’s own chocolate tourist fortress, and we like it so much that we’ll come here even on our own time. Palette's cocktail program was designed by Carlos Yturria (The Treasury, Whitecap), and the outdoor bar is a great spot for an afternoon drink.

They’re good, but you might as well just order shrimp siu mai—unless you’re obsessed with scallops. Like a lot of restaurants in tourist areas, Palette Tea House has a theme, but it doesn’t involve eating around props from B movies or dealing with servers dressed as pirates. Instead, everything you order here comes out looking like Bob Ross quit painting and decided to open a restaurant. It makes the entire experience more fun, but even if we ate here blindfolded, the food would still be fantastic. Add an order of the steamed silken egg topped with the stuff for a dish that's luxurious in flavor while light in texture. The lobster ha gow are busting at the wanton-wrapper seams with plump crustacean meat.

The coolest thing about this is the pipette of butter they bring you to inject into each individual dumpling. The lobster in these is tender and they’re the only lobster dumplings we’ve had worth ordering. Palette Tea House 彩籠 is located at the heart of San Francisco’s North Beach, in the plaza of Ghirardelli Square. Founded by the family of Koi Palace 鯉魚門 and Dragon Beaux 俏龍軒, Palette Tea House introduces a new approach to dim sum, seafood, and specialized Cantonese cooking. Palette combines modern ingredients and a local atmosphere, yet remains familiarly authentic.

You’ve found a spot in Ghirardelli Square that’s as much for you as your visiting family. But when they force you to go to the wharf after, you’re on your own. You’ll be attracted to the colorful xiao long bao like Danny Ocean to a heist, and will want more after you try the rich soup and pork filling. The only blatant connection to the theme is the plates shaped like actual paint palettes. They have useful dents to hold the chili oil, Chinese mustard, and other sauces you’ll dip each dumpling into as if you were frantically creating a masterpiece.

Aside from dim sum, Palette Tea House has larger plates like tender roasted Iberico pork cha siu and Dungeness crab covered in garlic butter. They’re not as clever looking as the lobster ha gow with pipettes of butter to inject into each dumpling, but they’re great to split and will make you thankful no one sucked you into getting mediocre seafood or bread bowls nearby. There are still a few reminders that you’re in tourist country, like the occasional diner with a map sticking out of their bag, but you won’t care.

Palette Tea House introducesa refreshed perspective of Cantonese cuisine and a marriage of both authenticand modern culinary techniques. From the team of Koi Palace and Dragon Beaux, the restaurant features vibrant, authentic dim sum, live seafood, a Pacific-inspiredcocktails list, and a casual atmosphere located at the heart of GhirardelliSquare in San Francisco. When was the last time you saw Iberico pork at your local dim sum palace?

Rice crepes are available with your choice of several fillings including prawns, soft shell crab, and raw wagyu with finely chopped black truffle mushrooms (pictured). In other words, the stage is set for big groups ready to dig into towers of bamboo baskets all overflowing with wontons and the like. These are some of the best xiao long bao we’ve had in San Francisco. The wrappers are more reliable than run-flat tires, and the dumplings are always rich and full of pork. These soup dumplings come with five different flavors, so everyone at your table should order their own to get the full experience, but it’s worth it. They’re all fantastic, especially the rich yellow ones with crab roe and turmeric.

Original Pork Soup Dumpling "XLB"

This buzzy dim sum restaurant may call the heart of Ghirardelli Square home, but it is hardly a spot just for tourists. Pork and duck puffs crafted into cute little black swans are Instagram-ready; and may be tailed by durian bao, tender squid ink dumplings with crunchy jicama and pork, or slippery rice crêpes filled with crispy soft-shell crab. The wait can be considerable—I waited three months, in fact—but the chance to enjoy this museum afternoon tea offering is well worth the need for advance booking. Available Thursdays and Saturdays, 1 to 3pm, the intimate service comes with views of the (mock) Herculaneum villa and amphitheater from the Founder’s Room, located just above the museum café. Pick from an array of high-quality teas, including the Villa’s Art of Tea signature blend, which adds a touch of lavender to Chinese black tea. Compared to the Getty Center’s admittedly lackluster afternoon tea offering, the Villa’s selection of vegetarian-friendly scones, sweets and sandwiches is delicious, and far better than it needs to be.

Each service includes a glass of Veuve Clicquot or a non-alcoholic sparkling wine, plus scones, sandwiches and a rotating array of sweets that put a California spin on classic flavors. (In particular, we found the aged goat cheese and chive scone to be outstanding.) For $20 more, guests can also indulge in bottomless champagne. For a kitschy, distinctly English afternoon tea, this beloved Pasadena establishment offers two reservation-only seatings on weekend afternoons at 1 and 4pm. Each tea service includes a glass of sparkling elderflower cordial, a pot of house blend tea and a three-course set that includes Rose Tree’s famously delicious scones—and the entire service is overseen by a butler in full traditional uniform. Given the overall Britishness of the place, expect savory bites like beef Wellington, toad-in-the-hole and Welsh rarebit alongside sweets like sticky toffee pudding. Note that Rose Tree Cottage requires a proper dress code and only takes afternoon tea reservations a week in advance—and strictly over the phone.

You have to order the black swan puffs just to get a snap for your feed, but this delightful take on the classic deep fried taro puff, updated with charcoal, is a flight of fancy for your tastebuds, too. Sign up to unlock our digital magazines and also receive the latest news, events, offers and partner promotions. Reserve the restaurant's new private room, semi-enclosed by a floor-to-ceiling glass wall of wine, for more intimate family parties. Palette has an entire section of its menu devoted to grilled and skewered items, like tiger prawns (pictured), smoked pork belly, and wagyu steak. The mighty, steamed Kurobuta truffle XLB is twice the size of any regular dumpling and made with premium pork with a hint of truffle. Only one big piece of scallop comes on top of this siu mai, and the rest of the filling is shrimp.

While the tea service technically requires reservations, the Founder’s Room does accept walk-ins whenever there are cancellations—so if you’re already visiting the reservation-only Villa on a Thursday or Saturday, you can always try asking the host stand upstairs. Santa Monica isn’t exactly known for its upscale afternoon tea offerings, but this design-forward hotel is changing that with a modern afternoon tea service inside Palma, the Proper’s lobby restaurant. Designed by Kelly Wearstler, the impossibly chic space features unique floral arrangements and plenty of seating arrangements to choose from. While the tables that border the elongated booth by the window catch the most light, larger parties can opt for the secluded alcoves or one of the lower-slung coffee tables.

This cha siu of tender pork chunks is glazed with a slightly sweet barbecue sauce for a beyond-rich flavor. Try and suss out the nutty flavors that come from from the acorn-based diet of these specific Spanish pigs. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing, beautiful garden setting or a conveniently located place to enjoy tea with friends, these top L.A. For reader convenience, we’ve also included which days of the week you can find the tea in each listing, as well as the cost of each tea set. These are stuffed with shrimp, pork, and duck, and the filling has a sweet sauce in it that brings everything together. The taro outside of the swans turn into tiny shrapnel after you bite in, but it’s worth it to get to play with your food.

"Designed by Architects, Built by Master Builders for Permanent Value" boasted the Alexanders' early ads. With spacious open plans, beguiling modern conveniences, and an underlying sophistication, their homes appealed to buyers eager to shed the trappings of large, unwieldy houses for a more casual, carefree way of life. In an era of uninspired ranches and mock colonials, the Alexanders' uncomplicated designs of strong form and angles articulated a bold, new residential look. In a story that ran this week, I mistakenly said that a PulteGroup housing project was south of State Road 7. Of course, that can't be true because State Road 7 runs north and south.

Well, we had the exact same question and were determined to find out. We searched online and we saw a ton of blog posts showing off their amazing photos, but none of them actually gave an address to the location. Most California palm trees grow along the coastline and inland areas close to the Pacific Ocean in USDA zones 9 to 11. Most species of palms thrive in the year-long sunshine and warmth of the southwest. However, some cold-hardy varieties of palms, like the jelly palm, can survive in zone 8, where the temperatures can dip below freezing. It was planned by Henry Phillips as a visitor attraction by itself, with Amon Henry Wilds as the architect; both were local men from Brighton and Hove.

You can literally hear the dream of homeownership for many young adults fizzling like a deflating balloon as prices continue to climb in Palm Beach County on single-family residences. Sure, sure, if you're coming from New York or California, Florida is like the outlet mall of homes with everything 60% off. The residential towers would be 32 stories and 28 stories. The towers would add to Related Group's dominion over waterfront downtown properties where it already has plans for Shorecrest and South Flagler House. Nearly 200 luxury condos are being planned in two towers in downtown West Palm Beach on the former First Baptist Church, which is now the Family Church.

There was no evidence to indicate that Daniels was armed, investigators said. "It has like this wild garden feel, but very, like sophisticated in a way. Cases of homelessness in Palm Beach County increased over the past year, according to a recent count showing more people without stable housing compared to 2023. Davis later changed his story and told investigators Flowers had visited his home on Feb. 1, but denied that they went anywhere together. He said he went to another friend's home for about an hour that day, then returned to his home to get ready for a vigil for Watson.

The huge palm leaves can grow 10 to 15 ft. (3 – 4.5 m) long and weigh up to 50 lbs. The abundant clusters of tiny white flowers bloom, followed by dark red to black edible fruits. An identifying feature of the California palm is the large shaggy growth of brown dead leaves forming a grass skirt under the crown. Also called the desert fan palm or petticoat palm, this native palm tree grows 40 to 60 ft. (12 – 18 m) tall with a crown 10 to 20 ft. (3 – 6 m) wide. The California fan palm is the only native palm in the Western United States.

Another feature of this palm tree is the grayish rings around a smooth green trunk. The Kentia palm is one of the most popular indoor potted palm trees that tolerate shade and low light. This upright, erect palm is one of the cold-hardiest palms in California and thrives in USDA zones 8 to 11. It is also the largest native palm tree in North America. The Mexican fan palm is one of the most common palm trees you will see in California. The Mexican fan palm is a tall, single-stemmed, fast-growing palm tree with a slender, columnar trunk crowned with fan-shaped palmate fronds. Other characteristics of the palm are the swollen base at the trunk, huge 10-foot (3 m) sprays of white flowers, and black, pea-sized fruits. The Florida royal palm is an impressive palm tree characterized by a smooth, silvery-gray trunk, bright green crown shaft, and large feathery fronds.

Others are of great economic importance, grown for yields of fruit, timber, spices and medicines. The Palm House was the first glasshouse built on this scale. It was constructed in 1844 by Richard Turner according to Decimus Burton’s designs.

Features include an upper walkway, taking the visitor into the branches of the larger plants. Kew also has the even larger "Temperate House", kept at lower temperatures. Not only was the location perfect and beautiful but it was in a residential area which made traffic pretty much nonexistent and parking was plentiful.

It grows 40 to 60 ft. (12 – 18 m) tall with a huge, spreading crown 40 ft. (12 m) wide. Its tolerance of salty air means it’s a popular palm tree to line California’s stunning beaches. The tall and elegant Florida royal palm tree grows 60 to 100 ft. (18 – 30 m) tall. Its crown of 15 gracefully arching fronds forms a rounded crown measuring 20 to 30 ft. (6 – 9 m) across. The tall, upright palms are typically used to line streets in southern states.

What is a Bento Box? Types, Sizes, & Uses of Lunch Bento Boxes

bento box design

Whether you’re a seasoned designer or just starting, now is the perfect time to explore this trend. The web is your canvas, and bento box design is your palette — mix, match, and create something uniquely yours. As a web designer, they draw inspiration from the elegant charm of Japanese bento boxes, influencing their design methodology. This influence comes to life through the implementation of Bento design, introducing a segmented structure into the user interface where each distinctive ‘segment’ fulfills a specific role.

Frequently Asked Questions About Lunch Bento Boxes

You can use cupcake cups, paper or silicon, as bento dividers, picnic utensils, and so on. Check out the JustBento Bento Gear Flickr pool for a lot of creative ideas from fellow bento enthusiasts. Besides, it's arguably a bit better for the environment (especially if you take public transportation!) since the goods have already travelled to your area. David Schlosser’s bento game goes beyond just raw fish, with grilled unagi, beef katsu, chicken katsu, and black cod variants at fairly approachable prices hovering the mid $20s to mid $30s. Pick up a bottle of sake like Takachiyo 59 junmai daijingo to pair with the bento. Closed for most of the pandemic, Q recently emerged with a high-end sushi box intended to serve two people. Recently, Takumi shared photos of a concept called “Tokyo Apartment” inspired by the work of architect Sou Fujimoto (@soufujimoto). The bento takes its design from a modern apartment in Itabashi, Tokyo, and reflects the layout of several smaller living spaces adding up to one housing complex. Magewappa refers to the technique of bending the wood that Japanese woodworkers have been using to craft bento boxes for more than 400 years. A wooden box, while it requires handwashing, keeps the food packed inside moist and delicious (especially rice) without needing to reheat. “Authentic Magewappa is not cheap, but once you own it, it’s your lifetime companion,” Koizumi says.

Organized and Visually Appealing Content Hierarchy:

In this guide, we explore what is in a bento box lunch and how the lunch bento box has evolved from a simple food holder to a symbol of eco-friendly and fashionable dining. Perfect for busy lifestyles, the customizable bento box combines functionality with good looks, making meal times more enjoyable and convenient. Bento box UI might sound complicated, but it’s actually a very easy-to-learn way of structuring your user interfaces to achieve a modern look and improve usability. You’re striving to create something innovative, something that resonates with modern internet users, but you’re stuck in a creative rut. The items listed on eBay, J-List and such are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to bento gear - a lot, lot more is available only in Japan.

From special offers to latest news, the user can find the information that's relevant to them quickly and easily. Bento box web design ultimately takes inspiration from the food world, using small, rectangular layouts to highlight key pieces of information. Generous rounded corners are also a requirement for emulating the bento box look. The simplicity of the design means it can work brilliantly on mobile devices, and is a good strategy for breaking up stats and numbers or otherwise dense information.

Rounded cells bring a sense of modernity and elegance, making the design more approachable and less stark. This softer approach to design elements can make your website feel more inviting and user-centric. While the overall layout remains coherent and unified, thanks to the grid system, the variation in sizes breaks the monotony, making the experience more dynamic for the user. This uniformity is what gives the bento design its distinctive, organized appearance. But now the actual work begins – creating your first bento box web design. So far, I introduced you to bento box design and tried to motivate you to implement it in your work.

With major players like Apple and Microsoft adopting bento UI in their designs, this style has gained considerable recognition and familiarity among users worldwide. The true initiator may be up for debate, but the impact of the bento box design on the web design industry is undeniable. As centuries passed, bento boxes evolved, transcending cultural boundaries. Most importantly, bento UI works well across different devices and screen sizes, maintaining its structural integrity whether viewed on a desktop, tablet, or smartphone. Actually, many design experts found bento UI to look best on smaller screens, so you can consider using it for mobile apps too.

bento box design

Bento UI might sound complicated, but it’s actually a very straightforward way of structuring a design. It’s simple and efficient; consequently, it’s popular with both designers and users. The term Bento Box originates in Japan, where it refers to a meal divided into its constituent parts and packed into a box. But in the design world, Bento Box is a design trend that is having a huge impact on how we design user interfaces. Some say it began with the metro design language used by Windows 8 back in 2012, others give Apple the credit as they use bento UI throughout their video presentations and website. Whichever came first, the appetite for bento box design is going nowhere.

Every year, a handful of design trends hit the scene, some sticking around in users’ hearts and designers’ toolkits, while others fade into obscurity. Similar to Nev, Iconwerk used bento box style to showcase their best icon designs. Each of the content boxes are kept very minimal so that when putting all of them together, it will not feel busy. Bento UI is rooted in visual hierarchy and organization, which have been the cornerstones of UI design since the beginning.

Sailing Summer 2024 from Port Tampa Bay to Key West and Mexico on 4- and 5-night cruise itineraries.

The Ship

For those who love to dance, Margaritaville at Sea has added a brand new venue at the very top of the ship for adult guests. The newest adult-only venue is called the Hemisphere Nightclub and can be found on Deck 14. While the standard piano bar wasn't a new addition, the refurbishment of Margaritaville at Sea's Paradise brought the brand-new venue called "Keys On The Water Dueling Piano Bar," which can be found on Deck 9.

Island Time

That being said, on a cruise this short, where you're in port for one of the two days, you're not spending much time in your room anyway. Still, the ship is compact compared to a modern-day megaship, and there's certainly enough onboard to keep you occupied. In fact, we found the two-day trip somewhat chaotic; with such limited time, passengers are packing in as much as they can, leaning to a fast-paced, occasionally frenzied, vibe. For newbies looking to try a cruise vacation or frequent sailors searching for a quick getaway, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise provides a good-enough experience that might very well get you hooked on Mother Ocean.

Grand Terrace Suites

Set your morning to a sparkling start with a fresh, luxurious breakfast from JWB Prime Steakhouse for the ultimate beginning to a fantastic day in paradise. Celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, weekend getaways, and every special occasion. Additionally, guests can enjoy a complimentary burger bar at the Cheeseburger In Paradise Burger Bar on Deck 10. This is a great option for an afternoon snack or lunch while on your cruise. The refreshed nightclub features a brand-new cocktail menu, as well as bottle service and live DJ.

This was a great addition and kept this large venue filled with guests enjoying their evening. The Margaritaville at Sea Paradise is your off-shore resort experience, sailing from the Port of Palm Beach to Grand Bahama Island. On this floating island vacation, you can unwind, enjoy the endless activities and entertainment, or just relax and soak up the sun.

Cruise.Blog had the opportunity to see exactly what changes and improvements had been made to Margaritaville at Sea’s Paradise since its original debut in 2022. For my sailing, I was gifted a Wi-Fi Package, package for 10 drinks, and onboard credit, which I used to eat at the specialty restaurant onboard, JWB Prime Steakhouse. With visual accents that inspire adventure, the ship’s inviting atmosphere will be filled with music, lights, island-inspired sculptures, artwork, scents of the tropics, and more. Lovers of non-stop entertainment will enjoy the Par-A-Dice Casino, Stars on the Water Theater, and various nightclubs while wellness-enthusiasts can stop by the St. Somewhere Spa or Fins Up! With pools, a retail store, and so much more, there is something for everyone. The first ship, the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, will be based out of the Port of Palm Beach with two-night/three-day cruises to Grand Bahama Island.

One of my favorite features of the Oceanview Stateroom was the awesome porthole window, which was a lovely place to watch the sunrise from my cabin. I enjoyed the seating area near the window, too, as it made the stateroom feel quite spacious. Margaritaville at Sea unveiled an array of entertainment offerings onboard its newest ship, the Islander, embarking on its maiden voyage from Port Tampa Bay in June, according to a company statement.

After sailing onboard the Paradise the first time, I was intrigued to see how Margaritaville At Sea had improved since 2022. It was our honor to be hosted onboard by Margaritaville at Sea, and while we were invited onboard, all of these opinions are genuinely my own. On my first cruise, I was only able to dine at the buffet for breakfast, so I was curious to see what the Port of Indecision Buffet offered for dinner. Something I noticed had improved onboard this sailing was the addition of more onboard activities. This quick cruise is unique in the cruise line industry, as it's rare to find a 2-night sailing on any cruise line.

New activities and amenities

Once you're in the Bahamas, shore excursions are extra and you will have to pay to take transportation from the terminal in Freeport to any attractions, as there is nothing within walking distance. Which is good, because only 10 rooms on the entire ship come with a balcony. Even junior suites only have portholes; you have to book a Grand Terrace Suite if you want outdoor real estate. Another area where the ship seems dated is in its utilities; the renovation did not add the number of American outlets and USB ports that always-wired travelers want these days. With 12 specialty and included dining options, sampling your way around the Margaritaville at Sea Islander is a delicious escape from the ordinary.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food and dining options onboard Margaritaville at Sea’s Paradise my second time onboard. The Main Dining Room featured a new menu with island-inspired signature dishes, a new selection of cocktails and wines, and scratch-made desserts. (Many passengers here receive a meal here in the popular License to Chill package that comes with 10 drinks, an onboard wine tasting and other perks).

The ship will homeport in Tampa, Florida and offer four to seven night cruises to the Caribbean. The maiden voyage with the cruise line is scheduled for June 14, 2024, a four night cruise to the Western Caribbean with a stop in Cozumel. For the first time, the cruise line has released a first look at what cabins will look like when the ship enters service in June. Each one will have all-new furnishings, fixtures and Margaritaville signature bedding, pillows and linens.

New dining venues are the Far Side of the World Asian fusion sushi bar and Mexican Cutie Cantina, where passengers can customize their own tacos and breakfast burritos. Island Eats is a seafood shack inside the adult-only Tiki Bar -- also a new concept -- overlooking the back of the ship. Also located in the Tiki Bar is the tropical-inspired Tiki Grill with dishes such as fire-grilled fillet skewers and pina colada creme brulee. Located on the upper floor of Fins Dining Room is the new Islander Dining Room serving chef-crafted seasonal specialties in addition to the main restaurant menu. And it wouldn't be a Margaritaville cruise ship without plenty of drinking options.

I highly recommend either planning out your day ahead of time or booking an excursion once onboard. Margaritaville at Sea’s Paradise ship docks in an area of the island that is not close to many attractions or beaches. For this reason, guests will need some form of transportation to best explore the island once they arrive. Powered by Echelon Fitness, the new fitness center features some of the most advanced fitness experiences, including a Reflect Touch Fitness Mirror for yoga. Those staying in suites will be able to enjoy connected mirrors from the comfort of their stateroom. For my recent sailing in March 2024, I was honored to be hosted onboard with Margaritaville at Sea.

Your land-based health insurance is generally not accepted on board and medical service fees are charged to your sailing account. On a cruise ship, medical emergencies can force a ship to return to port and, in some dramatic cases, passengers can be airlifted to land when the situation warrants it. Sometimes, a cruise ship captain has to make decisions based on health and safety that passengers do not like. I joined Carnival on February 5th, 2023, and it’s been a Great experience.

Disney World, for example, does not have to worry about pirates, and while the weather has occasionally forced the resort to close, it's generally not a life-or-death situation. And, if a visitor to a land-based hotel, resort, or theme park gets sick, it's relatively easy to get them medical attention. Guests are usually taken to a more secluded part of the ship and given privacy for scattering the remains. Nathan Diller is a consumer travel reporter for USA TODAY based in Nashville.
